The label second from the left has had a 6 digit reference added to it as an example. This reference can be added to all label formats but would normally be used in place of a barcode. The reference is written as text so can be a number, text, or combination of text and digits.
On the above labels: The number 3 refers to the number of labels of the specific product to be printed. Below the 3 the date is inserted automatically. The date shows when the labels were printed. Below the date is the name of a business. This can be removed or set to anything you like at the time of printing. Below the name is PB 5. This is the unit of the product.
Taken together the above tells the retailer inspecting the stock, that 3 units of PB 5 Boronia denticulata were supplied by Associated Land Management Ltd on or close to the date specified. From this the retailer can get some idea how many have sold.
The bold number 1 is a serialized number from 1 to the total number of labels being printed in a batch. It forces the labels to the printer, and makes it easy to locate a specific label in a batch if an error has occurred while printing. The EAN_13 is the type of barcode system being used on the labels. The www.pfpnet.com appears on all labels to advertise the PFP software. The number 453782 is the reference number mentioned above.
The graphic above should print true to size.
